Roleplay tagging lets admins categorize roleplays using custom tags. Each roleplay can have up to 8 tags.
Tags can help your team organize roleplays by topic, team, skill area, training program, or any other category that fits your organization. Once tags are added, they appear as chips in the roleplays table, making it easier to scan and manage your content.
Tags are managed at the organization level. Any tag created in your organization can be assigned to roleplays in your content space.
Where to Find Roleplay Tags
You can add and manage roleplay tags from two places in Yoodli.
You can add tags from the Roleplays table by going to Admin, then Roleplays.
From there, use the action menu next to a roleplay or select multiple roleplays to use bulk actions.
You can also add tags from the Roleplay Builder. Open a roleplay and use the Add Tags section on the Description card.
Adding Tags from the Roleplays Table
To add tags from the Roleplays table, go to Admin, then Roleplays.
Find the roleplay you want to tag and click the three-dot menu in the Action column. Select Add tags. If the roleplay already has tags, this option may appear as Edit tags.
A tag editor will appear. From here, you can select an existing tag from your organization’s tag list or type a new tag name into the search box and press Enter to create it.
Selected tags appear as chips. You can remove a selected tag by clicking the X on the tag.
Once you’ve selected the tags you want, click Apply to save your changes.
After tags are applied, they will appear as chips below the roleplay title in the Roleplays table.
Adding Tags from the Roleplay Builder
You can also add tags while editing a roleplay.
Open the roleplay in the Builder by clicking the roleplay title or selecting Edit from the action menu.
In the Builder, go to the Description card and find the Add Tags section. Click inside the tag field to view suggestions, or type to search for an existing tag or create a new one.
Tags appear as chips inside the input field. When you’re done, click Save to apply your changes.
The counter next to Add Tags shows how many tags have been added out of the 8 allowed tags.
Bulk Tagging Roleplays
You can apply the same tags to multiple roleplays at once from the Roleplays table.
In the Roleplays table, select two or more roleplays using the checkboxes. A bulk action bar will appear at the top of the table.
Click Edit tags, choose the tags you want to apply, then click Apply.
Bulk tagging overwrites existing tags on the selected roleplays. It does not merge the new tags with tags that were already assigned.
Managing Your Organization’s Tags
Organization owners and admins can create, rename, and delete tags from the Manage Tags modal.
To open the Manage Tags modal, open a roleplay in the Builder and go to the Add Tags section. Click Manage. This option is only visible to organization owners and admins.
Creating a New Tag
In the Manage Tags modal, type the new tag name into the search box.
A create option will appear at the top of the list. Click the plus icon or press Enter to create the tag.
Tag names can be up to 25 characters long.
Renaming a Tag
To rename a tag, open the Manage Tags modal and click the pencil icon next to the tag you want to update.
Edit the tag name, then press Enter or click the checkmark to confirm.
Renaming a tag updates it everywhere it is used across your organization’s roleplays.
Deleting a Tag
To delete a tag, open the Manage Tags modal and click the trash icon next to the tag you want to delete.
Deleting a tag removes it from your organization’s tag catalog and unassigns it from any roleplays where it was used.
To delete multiple tags at once, select them using the checkboxes and click Delete in the bulk action bar.
Deleting a tag is permanent.
Tips for Using Roleplay Tags
Keep tag names short and easy to understand. Tags appear as small chips, so shorter names are easier to scan.
Use a consistent naming style across your organization. For example, decide whether your team will use spaces, hyphens, or another naming format, and keep that format consistent.
It can also help to plan your tag categories before creating too many tags. Common tag categories include team, department, skill area, training program, or content type.
Because each roleplay can have up to 8 tags, choose tags that work well together. For example, you might use one tag for the team, one for the skill area, and one for the training level.
