Custom Keywords

Custom Keywords let your organization define a list of words that should be transcribed exactly as written. This helps improve consistency for company-specific terms, product names, acronyms, and internal language. Yoodli already uses this for the word “Yoodli.”

Keep in mind that transcription can still be inconsistent at times, especially for words without an obvious pronunciation.

When to use Custom Keywords

Use this feature when you notice a word is frequently transcribed incorrectly or inconsistently, such as:

Company or product names
Team names or internal tools
Industry terms, acronyms, and branded phrases

How to add Custom Keywords

This feature is available self-serve.

  1. Go to Org Settings

  2. Select Advanced Settings

  3. Open Custom Keyword Vocabulary

  4. Add the words you want Deepgram to transcribe exactly as written

Notes and expectations

Custom Keywords can improve transcription accuracy, but results may vary depending on how the word is pronounced in speech. If a word is still inconsistent after adding it, try adding common variations in spelling that match how people say it.
